Warrior Diet Day 37 Update

This series is generating a ton of feedback, so first off I want to thank everyone for encouraging me to keep posting and for all the people who are doing this diet with me on forums all over the place.  It’s good to be open-minded!  It’s a ridiculously easy diet to stick to anyways, but the support makes it all the better.  Thank you.

So it’s been 37 days as of today, and it’s safe to say that my initial goal has been achieved.

Just to remind you of those goals – I wanted to find a way of eating that took as little time as possible, left me with high energy, and let me maintain my weight and body fat percentage.

I started this whole experiment at 192.7 lbs with a scale test of 7.9% body fat.  I woke up this morning to 194.8 lbs with a scale test of 7.1% body fat.  Scales aren’t very accurate as far as body fat percentage, but mine is consistent enough with me to draw conclusions.

So, in a nutshell:

- Extremely low time investment.  Check.

- High energy and feeling of well-being. Check.

- Maintain weight and body fat.  Double check.

Christmas – An Interesting Test

On December 24th – 26th I was celebrating the Holidays with family.  Since there was so much food all over the place, I thought I would try going back to 3 big meals a day and see how I feel.  I started off with a family breakfast on the 24th – eggs, bacon, pretty typical fare.

I wasn’t a fan.  Energy was noticeably lower, I felt bloated all day and unfocused.  I gave it a fair trial for a few more days, seeing as I didn’t have to do much cooking or cleaning – but it just didn’t compare for me.  Warrior diet is now considered my standard way of eating.

The Magic of Tweaking

Obviously in the last five weeks I’ve been able to gather some very extensive feedback on what works for my body – what foods make me feel great, feel high energy, feel more stable, make me bloat, etc.   I’m going to post my most recent off-day and on-day plans and explain what I changed after them.

The Changes

Have you ever found yourself following a plan so closely that you can notice very little differences in it?  For example, my first fruit of the day are always blueberries because they give me kind of a light and creative energy, and I’m usually writing or reading in the morning.

Apples are good through the day because I’m usually in class and they make me feel fairly grounded and focused.

Strawberries work best for me in the afternoon as they seem to give me the perception of being full and it’s very easy to wait out until the feast when you’re not focused on your hunger.

Guys following me from Day 1 know that I was using a custom fasting mix, which I stopped using for a few reasons.  One, it made me feel a little sick.  Two, it tasted like crap.  Three, it unnecessarily overcomplicated things for me.

I’m a pure minimalist, I wanted this to be as easy and simple as possible for me.

By making the switches I have made, I think this is the most optimal, efficient, and simple plan I can use for ME.  Your mileage may vary .

Over the holidays I spent some time reading Maximum Muscle, Minimum Fat by Ori.  This is almost a sequel to the Warrior Diet book, and explains a lot more about the science behind this diet.  I found it very, very interesting and informative.  It will definitely give you a new perspective on what catabolism and anabolism actually mean to you.  You can order it through my Amazon affiliate link here to support me, or order it straight.

What’s Next?

I’ll keep doing a few updates every month for the foreseeable future.  I know everyone is very interested how this diet plays out in the long term.  My next post in a few weeks on this subject will be a picture comparison so we can get a more objective look at what’s going on with this diet.  Keep well Warriors.
